How long does it take to replace a fuse board?

Almost every board we fit is done in a single visit, in one day. Your power is off for roughly four to six hours while we change the board and test every circuit.

Do I need a full rewire?

Usually not. We test every circuit before we quote, and most houses with old boards have wiring that tests fine. If a circuit does need work, we tell you exactly which one and price it separately.

Do you certify the work?

Yes. Every board comes with an Electrical Installation Certificate and Part P notification to building control as standard, at no extra cost.

What happens if my EICR fails?

An unsatisfactory EICR lists coded faults. C1 means danger present and C2 means potentially dangerous, and both must be fixed. We work from your report and fix exactly what it flagged.

Why is your quote higher than the cheapest one I saw?

Cheap quotes often leave out main protective bonding to gas and water, new meter tails and the certificate, then add them on the day. Our fixed price includes everything the regulations require, so the number we send is the number you pay.

How much does a fuse board replacement cost in Manchester?

Most replacements cost between £449 and £750, fixed before we start. The price depends on how many circuits you have and whether the earthing and bonding need bringing up to standard. Three fixed packages cover almost every home:

Small home £449 Up to 6 circuits. Typical for flats and small terraces. RCBO board, surge protection, certificate and Part P included.

Most homes Standard home £549 Up to 10 circuits. The usual 3-bed semi. Full RCBO board with SPD, every circuit tested, certificate and Part P included.

Larger home £695 11 or more circuits. Bigger houses, extensions, EV-ready boards. RCBOs on every circuit, SPD, certificate and Part P included.

Where we work
