Replacing a fuse box costs £449 to £750 for most houses, and nothing we do costs more than about £995 even with every extra. Fuse board or consumer unit, it is the same job and the same price. The figures are on this page because you should not have to ask for them.

The packages
Three fixed packages, priced by circuit count
Count the switches or fuses on your current board and you know your package. Every package gets the same board quality; only the size changes.
The price you are quoted is the price you pay, fixed for 30 days from your written quote.
Extras, in the open
What adds cost, and why
Four things can sit on top of the package. Your photos tell us about the first three before we arrive, which is why our price is fixed and some quotes you get elsewhere are not.
Earthing upgrade+ £80 to £160When the main earth is undersized or missing. Visible in your earthing photo.
New meter tails+ £60 to £120When the cables from the meter are too thin or damaged. Visible in your tails photo.
Main protective bonding+ £80 to £150Green and yellow earth bonds to the gas and water pipes, often missing in older homes.
Circuit remedialsPriced per faultOnly if a circuit fails testing on the day. We tell you which one before touching it.
Comparing quotes
Why do quotes for the same job vary so much?
Because cheap quotes often describe a different job. A £300 quote that excludes main protective bonding, new meter tails and the certificate is not cheaper; it is incomplete. Those items get added on the day, when you are least able to say no.
Ask every electrician three questions
1Is the enclosure metal?
2Is there an RCBO on every circuit?
3Are the certificate and Part P notification included?
If any answer is no, add money to that quote before comparing it to ours.

Fixed packages are £449 for up to 6 circuits, £549 for up to 10, and £695 for 11 or more. With extras like bonding or new tails, the most anyone typically pays is around £995.
The metal RCBO consumer unit, surge protection, all labour, dead and live testing of every circuit, the Electrical Installation Certificate and Part P notification to building control.
Four things: an earthing upgrade, new meter tails, main protective bonding to gas and water pipes, and remedial work on any circuit that fails testing. Your photos let us price the first three before we arrive.
Cheaper quotes often exclude bonding, tails and the certificate, then add them on the day. Compare what is included, not just the headline number.
