How much does a fuse box replacement cost in Manchester?
£449 for up to 6 circuits, £549 for up to 10 and £695 for 11 or more. Manchester flats and two-up two-down terraces usually sit in the £449 package, while 3-bed semis in Burnage or Chorlton land at £549. Earthing, meter tails or bonding are priced from your three photos, so the figure is fixed before we book.
How a price is built →The boards we find in Manchester houses
Manchester’s housing is a century of styles side by side, and the boards match. The pre-1914 terraces of Levenshulme, Rusholme and Gorton still hide Wylex rewireable boxes in hallway cupboards, often untouched since a 1970s rewire. Ex-council stock in Wythenshawe tends to carry 1980s MEM split-load boards that predate RCBOs entirely.
The student and rental belt from Fallowfield through Withington adds another layer: flat conversions and HMOs where one intake cupboard feeds several boards of different ages. A lot of our Manchester work starts with a failed EICR on exactly that kind of setup, and an HMO licence inspector close behind it.
Manchester, neighbourhood by neighbourhood
The city breaks into a handful of patterns, and each has its own page. Chorlton is Edwardian terraces and semis, many now with loft rooms that have outgrown their boards. Levenshulme and Gorton are the long terraced grids off Stockport Road and Hyde Road. Fallowfield and Withington are the student and HMO heartland. Didsbury is conversions and semis either side of Wilmslow Road, and Wythenshawe is the huge interwar and post-war garden estate, much of it now privately owned.
The city centre, Ancoats and the new blocks around them are a different job: apartments with plastic consumer units in a hall cupboard, increasingly flagged on EICRs because the enclosure is not metal. North of the centre, Blackley, Harpurhey and Moston are terraces and interwar council semis much like Gorton’s. Wherever you are in the city, the fixed packages and the three-photo quote are the same, and there is no travel charge anywhere in it.

Yes, including conversions where the board sits in a shared intake cupboard. We coordinate access with the freeholder or managing agent, and your photos tell us in advance whether the supply arrangement needs anything unusual.
All the time. Fallowfield, Withington and Rusholme HMOs are a big part of our week, usually off the back of a failed EICR or a licence condition. We fit AFDD-ready boards where the licence calls for them.
Send photos today and you will have a fixed price within two working hours. Most Manchester jobs are fitted within the week; failed EICRs with a 28 day deadline get priority.
