How much does a consumer unit replacement cost in Bury?
Our three fixed packages apply: £449 up to 6 circuits, £549 up to 10, £695 for 11 or more. In Bury the terraces around the town centre and Radcliffe usually take the first, family semis in Whitefield and Prestwich the second or third. Earthing, tails and bonding are priced from your photos before you book.
How a price is built →Three bands of housing, three kinds of board
Around Bury town centre, Fishpool, Elton and Freetown are streets of red brick terraces, many now rented, where the board is usually a rewireable box or an early MEM unit fixed high in the hallway above the meter. Landlord EICRs bring us to these streets more than anything else, and the findings are the ones you would expect from a board that age: no RCD protection, no main bonding to the gas and water, and an enclosure that has been knocked about.
South of the town the borough turns suburban. Unsworth, Whitefield and Prestwich are mainly semis and detached houses from the 1930s to the 1970s, with boards from the rewire or the original build, and a generation of kitchen extensions and lofts added since. North, towards Tottington, Summerseat and Ramsbottom, it goes back to stone: older cottages, cellars and a few farmhouses where the supply arrangement is worth a careful look before we quote.
The Bury towns with their own pages
Four towns in the borough have their own pages, each with a different story. Prestwich is extended family houses near Heaton Park, where one board has to carry more circuits than it was ever built for. Whitefield sits by junction 17 of the M60 and brings us a steady run of EV-ready boards. Radcliffe has some of the borough’s most affordable terraces, full of first-time buyers and landlords with fresh survey or EICR findings. Ramsbottom is stone, cellars and a conservation-area town centre.
Bury is one of our northern boroughs. Away from the southern suburbs we batch jobs by area, which normally means a date later in the same week you send photos, while Prestwich and Whitefield, nearer the M60, often go sooner. There is no travel charge anywhere in the borough, and the fixed price from your photos is what you pay, whichever end of the Irwell you live at.

Yes, the whole borough is covered with no travel charge, including the villages north of the town. We group those jobs into rounds so a slot usually comes later the same week, and your price is fixed from photos before anything is booked.
Yes, and it is the usual way we handle it. Send the report with your three photos and we price every C1 and C2 line, fit the board and bonding in one visit inside your 28 days, and give you the written confirmation your tenants must receive.
Not at all. A lot of older Bury terraces had the meter and board put high in the hall or vestibule, and we work at that height regularly. If the meter tails run a long way from the meter to the board, your photos show it and we price new tails in advance.
