How much does a fuse box replacement cost in Eccles?
The fixed packages are £449 up to 6 circuits, £549 up to 10 and £695 for 11 or more. Patricroft and Winton terraces are usually £449 or £549, while Ellesmere Park villas and extended Monton semis often need £695. Earthing, meter tails and bonding are priced from three photos before you book, so nothing changes on the day.
How a price is built →Ellesmere Park and Monton: more rooms, more circuits
Ellesmere Park was laid out for Victorian merchants, and its big detached and semi-detached houses have been divided, reunited and extended over a century. Monton’s Edwardian semis have had the same treatment on a smaller scale: kitchens knocked through, lofts converted, garages turned into rooms. The electrics followed piecemeal, and a lot of these boards are full, with extra circuits hung off whatever had a spare terminal. Some have a board in the cellar and another on the landing.
A new consumer unit in one of these houses is as much a sorting job as a replacement. We trace every circuit, test it dead and live, and give each its own RCBO in a single metal board with spare ways for whatever comes next. Most land in our £695 package, and the certificate lists every circuit, so the next owner knows exactly what is what. Testing on the day also tells us which of the old add-ons are still in use.
Terraces between the canal and the motorway
South of the town centre, Patricroft, Winton and Peel Green are older terraced streets built for the canal, the railway and the Nasmyth works. Boards here are usually under the stairs or in a front cupboard, rewireable or early MCB, sometimes with the gas meter squeezed in beside them. Many of these houses are rented, and a C2 on the board is a very common finding on an Eccles landlord’s EICR.
Eccles is inside the M60, so jobs usually get a slot within two or three working days of your go-ahead. For landlords that leaves most of the 28 day window spare, and for sellers it keeps the board off the list of things holding up completion. If the gas meter shares the cupboard, send a photo that shows both, so we can plan the space the new metal board needs.

Yes. Garage and outbuilding boards are often fed from a spare fuse in the main board, sometimes with undersized cable. Send a photo of each board. We bring those circuits back into the new consumer unit where the cable is suitable, or feed the sub-board properly from its own RCBO.
Not far at all. We are based in Trafford Park, just over the Barton bridges, so Eccles and Monton are among the shortest trips we make. There is no travel charge, and your fixed price arrives within two working hours of your photos.
Usually, yes. Missing main protective bonding to the gas and water pipes often turns up alongside an old board in Winton and Patricroft terraces. It is priced at £80 to £150 on the same quote, done the same day, and both appear on the paperwork you give your tenants.
